Divine Destiny!
God Intervenes in Your Destiny!
The Sovereign God Intervenes to Help Us Fulfill Our Divine Destiny!
Here are the examples in the Scriptures how God intervened in the following manner in their destiny:
· Choice at Birth: Jeremiah was chosen: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified (set you apart) you; I ordained (appointed) you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).
· Preservation From Death: Moses was preserved: “And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. So, the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months” (Exodus 2:1-2). Joseph was protected: “Then Midianite traders passed by; so, the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt” (Genesis 37:28). Jesus: “When (Joseph) arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt and was there until the death of Herod” (Matthew 2:14-15).
· Association – By associating people with great men/women – David’s men: “And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented (bitter of soul) gathered to him. So, he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him” (I Samuel 22:2). Jesus’ Disciples: “Then (Jesus) said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men’” (Matthew 4:19).
· Dire Circumstances – Moses: “When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of (presence of) Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian” (Exodus 2:15). Joseph: “(God) sent a man before them—Joseph—who was sold as a slave. They hurt his feet with fetters, he was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him” (Psalm 105:16-19).
· Critical Placement (Slavery & Bondage): Mordecai and Esther, Ezra, Nehemiah, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
Destiny Discovers God’s Predetermined and Hidden Purpose in You!
God’s Destiny Discovers the Hidden and Predetermined Purpose of God!
Here are the examples in the Scriptures who came to know the hidden purpose:
· God’s clear voice – Jeremiah: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified (set you apart) you; I ordained (appointed) you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).
· Dreams – Jacob: “Then (Jacob) dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it” (Genesis 28:12). Joseph: “Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him even more” (Genesis 37:5).
· Vision – Abram: “After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward’” (Genesis 15:1).
· God’s Still Small Voice – Elijah: “And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice (a delicate whispering voice)” (I Kings 19:11-12).
· The Word of God: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). John (me): “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25). “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
· Repeated Warnings: “He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy” (Proverbs 29:1).
Destiny-Consciousness Pursues the Purpose!
The following examples pursued God’s purpose by pursuing God Himself! When We are Conscious of Our Destiny, We Will Pursue Our Purpose!
· Jacob pursued his journey with a vow: “Then Jacob made a vow, saying, ‘If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God” (Genesis 28:20-21).
· Joseph pursued his purpose by separation: “But (Joseph) refused and said to his master’s wife, ‘Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?’…he left his garment in her hand and fled and ran outside” (Genesis 39:8-9, 12).
· Caleb and Joshua pursued (Promised Land) by wholly following God: “Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob because they have not wholly followed Me, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have wholly followed the Lord” (Numbers 32:11-12).
· Ruth followed her purpose by following a righteous woman, Naomi: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also if anything but death parts you and me” (Ruth 1:16-17).
· The disciples followed their purpose by staying with their Master and learning: “But Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also, we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ (the Holy One of God), the Son of the living God” (John 6:68-69).
Purpose Overcomes Obstacles in Prayer!
Diligent and Earnest Prayer is the connecting link to heaven to bring the food, nutrients, and water from heaven to nourish the seed, the Word of God, and the promise from God!
· Mordecai and Esther: “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!” (Esther 4:16).
· Nehemiah – 11 times, Nehemiah sought God in prayer: “So it was when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven” (Nehemiah 1:4).
· Daniel: “So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him time, that he might tell the king the interpretation. Then Daniel went to his house and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision” (Daniel 2:16-19).
· Jesus: “Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God” (Luke 6:12). “(Jesus), in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death and was heard because of His godly fear” (Hebrews 5:7).
Fulfillment of Destiny!
The Fulfillment of God’s Divine Destiny with A Shout of Victory!
· Mordecai and Esther: “So Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, with a great crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. The Jews had light and gladness, joy, and honor. And in every province and city, wherever the king’s command and decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a holiday. Then many of the people of the land became Jews because fear of the Jews fell upon them” (Esther 8:15-17).
· Nehemiah: “So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of Elul, in fifty-two days” (Nehemiah 6:15).
· Daniel: “And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined (Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego), he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm. Thus, Daniel continued until the first year of King Cyrus” (Daniel 1:20-21).
· Ruth: “So, Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife; and she bore a son. Then the women said to Naomi, ‘Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a close relative; and may his name be famous in Israel! And may he be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him’” (Ruth 4:13-15).
· Jesus: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (I John 3:8).
· Paul: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (II Timothy 4:7).
Please note in many of the examples above, their godly purpose became clear, although some of the examples (Joseph who forgot his dreams, Ruth) did not know their destiny until they arrived. All of them had this in common – They believed in God, separated themselves to God, kept their walk with God, and God brought them to their divine destiny!
