God’s Milestones in Life!

Examples in the Bible!

Kronos (Greek) is the linear time measured in minutes, hours, days, and years!

Kairos is God’s Opportune Time, and Moments Within Times! SET TIME!

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven” (Eccl 3:1).

God’s milestones of important happenings in our personal life signify HIS PURPOSE for our life!

King David prayed: “My times are in Your hand” (Psalm 31:15).

Before personalizing God’s Times in my life, I would like to cite the examples in the Bible with “Appointed Time” or “Set Time” that changed their courses!

Examples

Abraham’s Promised Seed!

“And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: ‘Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants (seed) forever. And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered” (Genesis 13:14-16).

·        God described Abram’s inheritance only after separation from Lot!

·        God mentioned “your seed” to Abram, whose wife, Sarai, was barren!

·        God did not specify the time frame when these would happen!

The Specific Time (Set Time) of Abraham and Sarah arrived when God was particular about the season of His blessing, Isaac: Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time, I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son” (Genesis 18:14). “For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him” (Genesis 21:2).

Israel’s Affliction in Bondage!

In a general sense, God had revealed to Abram that his descendants will be captive in a foreign land for over 400 years, 430 years precisely: “Then He said to Abram: ‘Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years’” (Genesis 15:13). “And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years—on that very same day—it came to pass that all the armies of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt” (Exodus 12:41).

80 years before Israel’s deliverance came, God “Set the Time” by raising Moses to fulfill His purpose for Israel: “And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh” (Exodus 7:7).

Joseph’s Prominence By Dreams!

Joseph was made aware by his dreams that one day, he would rise to prominence, but everything he went through after that for two decades was pain and sorrow: “Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, ‘Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed, your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.’  And his brothers said to him, ‘Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?’ So, they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, ‘Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me’” (Genesis 37:5-9).

By Joseph’s gift of interpretation of dreams, Joseph helped the butler when he was 28 years old: “And Joseph said to him, ‘This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days’” (Genesis 40:12).

It was at the “Set Time” of God that God brought Joseph before Pharaoh when he was 30 years old: “Then it came to pass, at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh had a dream; and behold, he stood by the river…Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and went throughout all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:1,46).

King Hezekiah!

Hezekiah’s lifespan had come to an end with a warning from Prophet Isaiah to get ready: “In those days, Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live’” (II Kings 20:1).

God “Set His Time” to extend Hezekiah’s life by 15 more years after his repentance: “Return and tell Hezekiah, the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: ‘I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely, I will heal you. On the third day, you shall go up to the house of the Lord. And I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of My servant David’” (II Kings 20:5-6).

The Messiah Timeline!

Daniel’s prophecy set the timeline for the Messiah’s Anointing in the Jordan River: Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy” (Daniel 9:24). The timeline was 70 weeks (More accurately, each week = 7 years) to the anointing of the Most Holy (The Messiah)!

Daniel was made aware that the timeline would begin from the time of rebuilding the Temple for up to 69 weeks (of years): “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times” (Daniel 9:25).

The rebuilding of the Temple began during the seventh year of King Artaxerxes at the time of Ezra, the scribe: “Some of the children of Israel, the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers, and the Nethinim came up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes” (Ezra 7:7).

Here is the Table leading up to the time when Jesus knelt before John the Baptist for His baptism and separation:

______________________________________________________________

                REBUILDING OF THE TEMPLE

                                  456 B.C

ADD 69 WEEKS (OF YEARS) – DANIEL 9:25

                                  456 B.C. + 483 YEARS = 27 A.D.

_______________________________________________________________

The last week of 70 weeks, 7 years, is separated by God to the time of tribulation for the whole earth: “And after the sixty-two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the war, desolations are determined” (Daniel 9:26).

Kairos Moment for Israel – 1 Week of 7 Years Left (for the Future)!

We have NOW come into the “Set Time” of God’s clock for Israel: “For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, because of Your indignation and Your wrath; for You have lifted me up and cast me away. My days are like a shadow that lengthens, and I wither away like grass. But You, O Lord, shall endure forever, and the remembrance of Your name to all generations.  You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come” (Psalm 102:9-13).

Two Signs are pointing to the “Set Time” of God with Israel:

1)     The Fig Tree, Nation of Israel, becoming a nation once again: Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near” (Matthew 24:32). Israel was recognized as a nation on May 14, 1948.

2)     Jerusalem set free from all other nations: “And they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled” (Luke 21:24). In history, Jerusalem was besieged 46 times, partially destroyed 13 times, destroyed 17 times, and changed hands 25 times, until June 7, 1967, when it was reclaimed after the 6-day war.

God has a purpose for our lives!

God’s purpose will be revealed in His Times and Seasons!

There is generally a timeframe within our lives, and we will be made aware of His Purpose for our Lives!

As we are faithful to God and continue walking with God, we will be made aware of the Set Time and the Season in which God will carry out His purpose!

Let us be Conscious of our Times with God!

Let us Redeem the Lost Times by Spending Our Time in Good’s Word, God’s Worship, and Prayer!

Times Invested in God are the Times Redeemed!

Abraham, Joseph, Moses, and the Patriarchs Invested Their Times in God!

OUR TIMES ARE PRECIOUS WITH GOD!

Prayer

“Heavenly Father, I love You and adore You. Thank You, Lord, for redeeming me by the blood of Your Son, Jesus, shed on the cross of Calvary for me. I am a new creation in Christ. I yield my time in Your hands for You to fulfill Your purpose. I surrender and obey Your will and guidance by the Holy Spirit. In the Precious and Wonderful Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen! Amen!!”
