Love Relationship with Our God!

Our Heavenly Father’s Declaration!

Here is our Heavenly Father’s decree upon His Children: “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set (exalt) him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life (length of days) I will satisfy him and show him My salvation” (Psalm 91:14-16).

He has set his love upon Me! – Any relationship starts with love and grows in love. Still, over time, the love between the two becomes unshakable, indestructible, and continuous (almost everlasting). When the relationship reaches that stage, we can say that “WE HAVE SET OUR LOVE!” WE CAN SET THAT KIND OF LOVE UPON GOD, AFTER TASTING HIS LOVE AND WALKING WITH HIM FOR YEARS!

He has known My name! – Setting our love upon God brings us into knowing God by HIS NAME, just as we know the people we love by their names. The relationship is no longer on a business basis or in an uncertain sense, but based on the individual's name.

God wants us to have such a LOVE-RELATIONSHIP with Him!

God wants us to KNOW HIM BY HIS NAME!

God Called Abraham, His Friend!

“But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the descendants of Abraham, My friend” (Isaiah 41:8).

God called Abraham, His friend. Abraham grew in the knowledge of knowing God in various attributes. There are five instances where God and Abraham grew closer in their friendship. In two of those instances, God revealed His Name to Abraham, and in the other three, Abraham gave the name to God worthy of what he had received from Him:

1)     “After these things, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.’  But Abram said, ‘Lord God, what will You give me’” (Genesis 15:1-2a). Abram called God, “Lord God (Lord Adonai),” meaning that God was his Master, Owner, and Husband!

2)     “Then Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: ‘Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.’ And he gave him a tithe of all” (Genesis 14:18-20). Abram knew God through His Priest Melchizedek as “God Most High, God the Highest, El Elyon!”

3)     “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am Almighty God (El Shaddai); walk before Me and be blameless’” (Genesis 17:1). After 24 years of walking with God, Abraham knew God in His Name, El Shaddai, the Almighty God!

4)     “Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God (El Olam)” (Genesis 21:33).

5)     Jehovah-Jireh was the name Abraham gave to God when God provided him with the ram for the sacrifice: “Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So, Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And Abraham called the name of the place, The Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, ‘In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided’” (Genesis 22:13-14).

God Called Moses, God’s Faithful Servant!

Here is God’s testimony of Moses to his siblings, Aaron and Miriam: “Hear now My words: if there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses; he is faithful in all My house. I speak with him face to face, even plainly, and not in dark sayings (riddles); and he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?” (Numbers 12:6-8).

God introduced Himself to Moses when He appeared amid the burning bush, but not consumed: “And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you’” (Exodus 3:14).

God’s further revelation to Moses of His Lordship over Israel: “And God spoke to Moses and said to him: ‘I am the Lord (Jehovah). I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Lord (Jehovah) I was not known to them” (Exodus 6:2-3).

Here is the proof of Moses’ longing to experience God’s glory (His inner self) when God revealed His Name as the Lord God: “Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there and proclaimed the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth” (Exodus 34:5-6).

When God pronounced His name to Moses, The Lord, the Lord God,” His name included ALL of His REDEEMING NAMES in ONE SETTING – such as the Lord of Righteousness, God who is Holy, God the Healer, God who Gives Victory, God of Peace, God of Peace, God Who is Present, and so on!

God’s intense presence brought the most intense revelation of God with His names and attributes to Moses. It proves that as our longing to experience ALL of GOD increases, the possibility of KNOWING GOD IS REAL IN MOST OF HIS NAMES AND ATTRIBUTES, IF NOT ALL!

David, Man After God’s Own Heart!

David’s song of praise: “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; the God of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn (strength) of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so, shall I be saved from my enemies” (II Samuel 22:2-4).

God knew David’s heart and called him a “Man after My Own Heart!” David experienced God as his Rock, Fortress, Deliverer, Strength, Shield, Buckler, etc. In addition, David saw God as his “Shepherd!” What it tells us is that David was conscious of God’s presence in his life continuously and constantly, or else, he would not have pleaded with God, “Cast me not away from Your presence, O Lord; take not Your Holy Spirit from me!” The intense relationship with God by knowing Him with His names and attributes made David not only conscious of God’s presence, bringing joy to him, but also the CONVICTION when he sinned against God.

Knowing God in His names speaks of our intense relationship with Him, a relationship that helps us to both enjoy God as well as convict us when we depart from Him. IT KEEPS US PURE FOR GOD!

Jesus Called Peter, The Rock!

We live in a world of advertisements, handbills, propaganda, and promotion. A true servant of God yearns to know how many people in the world truly understand who he/she is and what he/she is called of God by the RECOGNITION BY THE HOLY SPIRIT! The Shunamite woman said of Elisha to her husband: “I perceive that this is a holy man of God, who passes by us continuously” (II Kings 4:9).

Jesus had the longing to find out who His disciples thought He was: “Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail (be victorious) against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound (will have been bound) in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed (will have been loosed) in heaven’” (Matthew 16:16-19).

Revelation by the Holy Spirit, Recognition of the Nature of the Servant of God, and Reception of Their Calling Lead Us to Our Reward! The Shunamite woman received Elisha as a prophet and received a prophet’s honor! Jesus mentioned it: “He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward” (Matthew 10:41-42).

John the Beloved Apostle on the Isle of Patmos!

Jesus revealed Himself in various names throughout the Book of Revelation to John the Apostle on the Isle of Patmos, the most significant of those mentioned here: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty’” (Revelation 1:8).

“And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, ‘Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death’” (Revelation 1:17-18).

John was tortured and in pain on the Isle of Patmos when Jesus revealed more of Himself to him:

Jesus in Revelation is the Faithful Witness, First Begotten of the Dead, Prince of the Kings of the Earth, Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and the Ending, The Almighty, The First and the Last, The Amen, Faithful and True Witness, The Beginning of the Creation of God, Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Root of David, Lamb, Son of God, Holy, True, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, The Word of God, The Root and Offspring of David, The Bright and Morning Star!

Do not discount PAIN AND SUFFERING for in THOSE MOMENTS WE KNOW MORE OF OUR GOD REVEALED TO US IN ALL OF HIS GLORY!

God as Our Father!

What a mighty God we serve – GOD MOST HIGH, GOD ALMIGHTY, JEHOVAH, ELOHIM, AND GOD THE REDEEMER HAS REVEALED HIMSELF TO US THROUGH HIS SON, JESUS!

WE KNOW GOD AS OUR FATHER: “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure” (I John 3:1-3).

Through His greatness, providence, and sovereignty, God guides His children by His Holy Spirit: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Romans 8:14-17).

In conclusion, God has set His love upon us as we have set our love upon Him: “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set (exalt) him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life (length of days) I will satisfy him and show him My salvation” (Psalm 91:14-16).

Here is our Heavenly Father’s Word of Deliverance to those who have set their love upon Him:

I will deliver him!

I will set (exalt) him on high!

He shall call upon Me!

I will answer him!

I will be with him in trouble!

I will deliver him and honor him!

With long life (length of days), I will satisfy him!

I will show him My salvation!

Prayer

“Heavenly Father, what a joy it is know You as Your son. I thank You for revealing Yourself to me as “I AM THAT I AM” – “I AM WHO I AM, I AM WHAT I AM, I SHALL BE WHAT I SHALL BE TO ALL GENERATIONS!” I know You as my dear Father through Your Precious Son, Jesus. Please, Lord, please reveal more of You as I yield myself to You. Help me live a life of knowing You to all around me. Most importantly, I thank You for staying with me through all my trials, tribulations, pain, and sufferings. I am Yours, and Yours alone, my Lord. In the Most Wonderful and Precious Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen! Amen!!”
