Mind – The Biggest Battleground!

Mind – The Biggest Battleground!

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).

Mind is Satan’s Biggest Battlefield!

Satan wants to control your senses: “Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’ But He answered and said, ‘It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’’” (Matthew 4:3-4). Do not restrict yourselves to be guided by your senses (Seeing, Hearing, Smelling, Tasting, and Touching) but by the mind of Christ: “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God...But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For ‘who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?’ But we have the mind of Christ” (I Corinthians 2:9-10, 14-16).

Satan comes at a decisive moment to seduce you: “And supper being ended (during supper), the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him” (John 13:2). Satan can operate when you are in a prayer meeting and even when God is moving around you!  Satan is also moving as God is moving! You may choose to stay away from the crowd but remember Satan operated to seduce and corrupt people when they were just two (Adam and Eve) on the earth in the Garden of Eden!

Satan causes blindness to those that are perishing: “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them” (II Corinthians 4:3-4). What is truth for you is a lie for the world, and what is evil for you is accepted in the world!

Satan causes amnesia to the hearers of God’s Word: “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it…Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved” (Luke 8:5, 12). There is one thing to see a revelation of God’s truth, fresh and new by the Holy Spirit, but an entirely different thing not to remember anything God has even said to you or spoken to you by His Word. You have suffered from amnesia, the loss of God’s Word, stolen by the enemy.

Dr. David Jeremiah: To download the power of God into your spirit, you must do the following with God’s Word:

·        Analyze

·        Personalize

·        Memorize

·        Verbalize

·        Organize

The subtilty of Satan corrupts the simplicity and the purity of Christ Jesus: “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity (and purity) that is in Christ” (II Corinthians 11:3). Jesus lived a life of purity, submission, and obedience to God.  The gospel is simple and straightforward to whose who have received it and put it into practice whereas philosophers extend the human senses to extrapolation with their imaginations to corrupt and to seduce the listeners and turn them away from the simplicity that is in Christ!

An Unwavering Mind Has the Perfect Peace of God!

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).

“You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You” (Amplified Bible).

The following Hebrew words are used for the key words in the above text of Isaiah 26:3:

·        Keep – (Hebrew ‘naw-tsar’) preserve, watch, besiege!

·        Perfect - (Hebrew ‘Shalom’)

·        Peace – (Hebrew ‘Shalom’) Peace, completeness in number, soundness in body, welfare, health, prosperity, contentment, friendship in human relationships, and with God in covenant relationship, peace from war!

·        Mind – (Hebrew ‘yay-tser’) Imagination, frame of mind, purpose, intellectual framework!

·        Stay – (Hebrew ‘Saw-mak’) Lean on, rest, to support or brace oneself, to sustain, refresh, revive!

·        Trust – (Hebrew ‘baw-takh’) Trust, confidence, security, hope, surety!

The word Hebrew ‘Shalom’ is twice used in “perfect peace” (Shalom Shalom) assuring us of guaranteed, perfect, and constant peace with all His blessings!

“(God) will preserve, watch over, guard, besiege, and keep (His children) in perfect and continuous peace with completeness (in number), soundness in body, welfare, health, prosperity, contentment, in their covenant relationship with God and their human relationships with one another, and have peace from within, whose mind (with purpose, imagination, inclination, intellectual framework, and character) stay (lean, rest, and brace itself) on God and trust Him wholeheartedly with confidence, hope, and surety!” (Isaiah 26:3, My Expanded Version).

Apostles’ Admonition!

Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy: “Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound (self-controlled) mind” (II Timothy 1:6-7).

Apostle Peter admonishes us: “Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober (self-controlled), be vigilant (watchful); because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, (will) perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen” (I Peter 5:6-11).

The four key words to a sound mind:

·        Humility

·        Self-control

·        Watchfulness

·        Faith

Life with those key factors Leads to:

·        Perfection

·        Establishment

·        Strength

·        Settlement

Prayer

“Heavenly Father, I love You and adore You and bow down before You.  Thank You, Lord, for setting me free from the power of the enemy by filling me up with Your Holy Spirit with power, love, and a sound mind. Help me, Lord, to remember You and Your precious promises from Your Word always to lead a life of victory.  In the Most Precious and Wonderful Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen! Amen!!”
