 The Gifts of the Spirit – POWER GIFTS!

There are three gifts of the Spirit among the nine that are “Power Gifts” to enable a servant of God to operate in the power of the Holy Spirit!

Gift of Faith!

Here are some Biblical Examples:

Abraham’s and Sarah’s parenting at an old age: “Is anything too hard (wonderful) for the Lord? At the appointed time, I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son” (Genesis 18:14).

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were saved in the fiery furnace: “’If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.’…Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished and rose up in haste. He declared to his counselors, ‘Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?’ They answered and said to the king, ‘True, O king.’ He answered and said, ‘But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods’” (Daniel 3:17-18, 24-25).

Daniel was preserved in the Lion’s Den: “As (the King) came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish. The king declared to Daniel, ‘O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?’ Then Daniel said to the king, ‘O king, live forever! My God sent his angel and shut the lions' mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm’” (Daniel 6:20-22).

Elijah shut the heavens and opened them again: “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit” (James 5:17-18).

In my personal example, God called me on a Wednesday night church service with a bright light surrounding me and His voice, “My Son, I need you in My service.” Hema heard the same voice at the same time. The assurance God gave me at that time was that if we would obey God and do what He would call us to do, He would supply all our needs without our expressing them to anyone. Leaving the job in 1990 and following God was a ‘Walk of Faith with Power’ solely depending on God and His promise! God has miraculously supplied our needs for over 35 years according to His riches in glory!

Gifts of Healing!

Here are the Biblical Examples:

Elijah and the Widow’s son: “And he cried to the Lord, ‘O Lord my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?’ Then he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried to the Lord, ‘O Lord my God, let this child's life come into him again.’ And the Lord listened to the voice of Elijah. And the life of the child came into him again, and he revived” (I Kings 17:20-22).

Naaman’s cleansing of leprosy, “So (Naaman) went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God, and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean” (II Kings 5:14).

Jesus’ 17 bodily cures, 6 deliverances from demons, 9 miracles over the force of nature, and raising 3 from the dead!

Personal Examples:

We have witnessed healings here at the Global Prayer Center, especially the one with epilepsy! Demons were cast out of people, and many healings were witnessed. 

A World War II veteran, a bomber, who had headaches and pain with sleepless nights for decades, was healed by a word of knowledge and God’s merciful intervention!

I was in a Jewish Shabbat service where the Lord intervened to answer the cry of a father and mother whose son had a psychiatric disorder in the hospital! As I spoke of the situation with a word of knowledge, the son was healed, became normal, and was blessed with a marriage and a healthy, normal life! Only God can do such wonders!

Working Miracles!

Here are the Biblical Examples:

Moses and the Red Sea: “And Moses said to the people, ‘Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.’ Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left” (Exodus 14:13-14, 21-22). “At the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up; the floods stood up in a heap; the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea” (Exodus 15:8).

Joshua’s day when the sun stood still: “And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day” (Joshua 10:13).

Hezekiah’s day when the sundial moved by 10 degrees: “And Isaiah said, ‘This shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he has promised: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?’ And Hezekiah answered, ‘It is an easy thing for the shadow to lengthen ten steps. Rather let the shadow go back ten steps.’ And Isaiah the prophet called to the Lord, and he brought the shadow back ten steps, by which it had gone down on the steps of Ahaz” (II Kings 20:9-11).

Jesus raising Jairus' Daughter, Lazarus, and the widow’s son: “Taking her by the hand (Jesus) said to her, ‘Talitha cumi,’ which means, ‘Little girl, I say to you, arise.’ And immediately the girl got up and began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement” (Mark 5:41-42). “When (Jesus) had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out.’ The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, ‘Unbind him, and let him go’” (John 11:43-44). “And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, ‘Do not weep.’ Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, ‘Young man, I say to you, arise.’ And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, ‘A great prophet has arisen among us!’ and ‘God has visited his people!’ (Luke 7:13-16).

Personal Examples:

There were two individuals on life support, counting days and hours to live, when God intervened when we prayed: One was a missionary, Alba, who was on her deathbed when God heard our cry in sparing her life to live longer to set her home in order and to take care of her daughter, Caroline!

Lester Martz was dying on life support when we were called to pray on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 in a local hospital! God intervened to spare his life, and he went home healed from the hospital!

When I prayed with hundreds of people responding to our campaign in Nakuru, Kenya, among many who fell on the floor was a boy, 12 years old! He did not get up, and when I went back to him, the leaders raised him and told me that he did not walk because of palsy. I hugged him as I would hug my own son, and started crying out to God, “God, please heal this child. Let him live to glorify Your Holy Name!” God heard my cries, wiped my tears, and healed by when he started running all around the grounds where the campaign was conducted.

There were other notable miracles, such as the deliverance of the Witch Doctor in Nairobi, Kenya! Among the 8,000 people that filled the tent on a Sunday morning where I was speaking through an interpreter, a man came running forward at the end of the service to give his heart to Jesus. The whole audience erupted when he gave his testimony. It was that he was one of the notable magicians in all the African Continent, but that morning, he was changed by the power of the Holy Spirit while I was speaking. The archbishop who drove my family to the airport the next day to send us home said that the magician with a changed heart had not left the tent where he experienced salvation for over two days. He was crying, praying, and reading the Bible. His testimony since his experience is that he is traveling to many villages and sharing his miracle testimony to record the salvation of many individuals in Africa.

Our Modern Day Miracle of our Prayer Team Today – When I suffered a cardiac arrest on October 30, 2025, and was on a ventilator for two days, with no chance given by the doctors for recovery, our Prayer Team around the world was given the directive to pray non-stop from 2:30 – 4:30 AM on Saturday, November 1. The waiting room in the ER was filled, and prayers were offered from around the world when people, along with my family, cried out to God. The machines that were sounding ominous alarms from 2:30 – 4:30 AM stopped instantly at 4:30, and I started breathing on my own to the amazing surprise of the doctors and the staff in the hospital! God spared my life, and I am recovering at home and finishing this powerful message that I started before hospitalization.

Prayer

“Heavenly Father, I love You and adore You and bow down before You. I dedicate my life to You as Your servant. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to live in the freedom of the Spirit, cleansed and transformed. Fill me with Your power gifts, Lord, to help me pray and set the people free from sicknesses and bondages. I am Yours, O Lord, and Yours forever. In the Most Precious and Wonderful Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!”
